Modern Approach to Massage

Natural Healing. Treatments that work. Client Focused

Alternative Health Treatments

Because Wellness is a Journey, much like life is a journey.

Let me help you with your wellness journey.

With a unique approach to help my clients heal, I combine my deep therapeutic work with myofascial release and lymphatic drainage.  I will also incorporate stretching, assisted range of motion techniques, positional release, cupping and qua sha.  In my restorative sessions, clients enjoy the warmth of Himalayan Salt Stones to help soothe achy muscles.  Clients can receive a more gentle session with slow moving myofascial work and gentle strokes of lymphatic drainage.  No matter what session, I work to find what techniques work best for client. Every client is unique and every session should fit their needs to help them continue on their healing journey.

I started my journey with massage many years ago.  I actually spent most of my life working in construction.  I frequently used massage as a tool to keep my body in shape for work as well as preventing injury.  I have had multiple back and joint injuries over the years.  I have personally experienced the same aches, pains, and injuries a lot of my clients are suffering from today.  It gives me a different perspective on the injury and focus on what works best for my clients.  Becoming a massage therapist was a very pivotal point in my life and where I feel that I truly started on my own wellness journey.  I honestly love being a massage therapist.   After 10 years of working as a massage therapist, I still love what I do.  My long standing clients have become friends which we share our life’s journeys and our wellness journeys together.  It is such a rewarding feeling to have such wonderful connections with the clients that I treat.

In addition to massage, I love riding motorcycles.  When I can combine the two, I am living my dream.  I frequently go to motorcycle rally events where I have a booth set up to share the benefits of massage with a tough crowd that doesn't know how much massage can benefit them.  Frequently, riders suffer from shoulder, elbow wrist issues in conjunction with "arm pump" or low back pain from riding all day long.  I haven't meet a single rider that has never crashed.  It is amazing how the combination of lymphatic drainage and myofascial release can help to release old trauma injuries, or even new injuries.

I work with many clients who have had surgeries, muscle tears, strains or sprains, and injury from motor vehicle accidents.  If you have been in a recent motor vehicle accident, motorcycles included, please contact me directly almost all vehicle insurance has personal injury coverage, so you can get the help you need.  I worked with most insurance companies, and I can help you through the process.  The last thing a person wants to do is figure out how they can get help when they are already injured.  Lymphatic drainage massage in conjunction with myofascial release is a game changed for those with trauma from a motor vehicle accident.  As I learn more and more about lymphatic drainage work and scar tissue work, I am amazed at the benefits it has for my clients.  Lymphatic drainage massage truly helps the body to process inflammation.  Inflammation is a key factor in pain.

I do have clients, that just need a good monthly or bi monthly session to keep their bodies in tune.  Our bodies need maintenance just as much as our cars, motorcycles, or houses do.  Massage helps our bodies do many things.  Massage can help increase circulation; improve muscle recovery, reduce stress and anxiety, and help our bodies get the rest we need.  A 60 min massage session can give our bodies as much rest as 8 hours of sleep.  In this busy world, we need all the help we can get.  There are many cost options for clients wanting to receive regular massage.  I am working with Pacific Source insurance to help clients with the cost of massage.  If you have massage as a benefit from your provider, you can get reimbursement for your sessions.  I can process your HSA card for your sessions.  There are always options.  Please contact me directly to learn more.

I am on a mission to improve the quality of life of clients through a variety of alternative massage treatments and approaches.  At C. O. Bodyworks, I believe in unlocking the potential of self-healing in each client.  Clients can feel improvements from the very first session.  All treatments are specifically tailored to the needs of each client to ensure they receive the approach that works best for them. Time and again clients have seen the incredible healing power of these treatments.  Trust my hands, trust your ability to heal and allow yourself to feel better than you ever imagined possible.

Medical Massage

Medical Massage provides the focused treatment to clients recovering from injury, motor vehicle accidents, and surgeries.

Sometimes clients have a need for more specific work.  Maybe clients strained a muscle climbing South Sister. Maybe clients crashed a little too hard mountain biking or crashed while enjoying the slopes of MT Bachelor.  Maybe that injury resulted in a surgery.  It might have been fun getting to that point, but the question is how do we recover?  Massage is one of the many tools used to recover from such injuries.  In a focused Medical Massage Session, I will focus in on that injury.  With a combination of muscle balancing techniques, myofascial release, and lymphatic drainage, clients get the session needed to  increase healing and speed recovery.

Restorative Massage Session

60 min of a Restorative Massage Session provides the body with the equivalent of 8 hours of restful sleep.

We all have work to do, but we also have work our bodies need to receive to recover from our daily abuses.  Stress, repetitive work, injuries, surgeries, over exertion, or maybe we are just playing too hard in our beautiful Central Oregon landscape.  No matter the reason, our bodies need maintenance.  At C.O. Bodyworks, I can get clients on a regular schedule for whole body maintenance.  During a Restorative Massage session, clients will quiet the mind with a meditative space, healing music, and the city noise just a hum in the background.  The body will melt under the soothing touch of hot Himalayan Salt Stones and gentle, deep myofascial release massage.

Fire Cupping

An ancient practice, fire cupping increases circulation to help the body to process inflammation, reduce pain, and remove fascial adhesions.

No matter what session you are booked in, I can always add fire cupping or gua sha to your session.  Both techniques increase circulation. When you increase circulation, you decease inflammation, and bring hydration back into hypertonic muscle tissue.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage

Lymphatic Drainage Massage is a gentle form of bodywork that helps the body to process swelling, inflammation, and support detoxification.

Lymphatic drainage massage is a powerful tool used for injury recovery.  This specialized technique helps reduce inflammation swelling, pain, and increases mobility.  By manually moving lymphatic fluid, surgery or injury sites heal faster with reduced  bruising.  The nervous system is calmed by the gentle, soft repetitive strokes.  Manual lyphatic drainage massage can be used pre and post surgery.  It can be used immediately after an acute trauma.  It is an amazing tool to help healing from motor vehicle accident.  It helps the body process out metabolic wastes so the clients can feel true rest and recovery.
